Comments:
This story is continued from Blackhawk #256.

Paris is mentioned as being occupied by the Nazis in this story. The occupation began on June 14, 1940. Since Blackhawk #261, which takes place after this story takes place on June 18th, 1940, this story, and those immediately following, must occur during that four day time period.

Synopsis:
Having just destroyed the facility the Nazis were using to create potential super-soldiers, Blackhawk takes off in pursuit of Von Tepp and the one surviving experimental soldier. The other Blackhawks remain behind to search for Stanislaus. None of them know that Von Tepp experimented on Stan and that he is the monstrous soldier.

When the search for Stan turns up empty, the Blackhawks head to Switzerland to track down Professor Merson. They coerce him to tell them what happened to Stan, and he provides them a cure. Domino then rescues Merson from the Blackhawks custody.

Blackhawk himself tracks Von Tepp to occupied Paris where the monstrous Stan is set forth to attack the Eiffel Tower. Blackhawk is captured by Von Tepp who takes the medallion from his foe. Von Tepp is unaware that the medallion is actually a Nazi weapon that is causing Blackhawk mental problems. When the Nazi grabs the medal, his fears manifest. Since he does not have the will to resist as does Blackhawk, he dies instantly.

Blackhawk is then left to face the monstrous Stan. He shoots him in the chest just as the rest of the team arrives with the antidote. Stan reverts to normal, but his injuries are such that he may die, so the team rushes him back to Blackhawk Island for care.
